An English portrait of a family in a landscape setting. by a follower of Francis Hayman, 1708-1776.
Francis Hayman R.A. (1708-1776) was an English painter and illustrator who with Joshua Reynolds was actively involved in the formation of the Society Of Artists and became one of the founding members of the Royal Academy in 1768. Born in Devon, he began his artistic career as a scene painter for the theatre in London and became well known through the 1740`s for his decorative paintings for the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in London as well as for portraits, landscapes and scenes from history and literature.
